After nearly 5 years in the lunch business, after being named BEST SANDWICH SHOP IN DALLAS by DMagazine, and a nod from The Food Network as having the BEST SANDWICH IN TEXAS, 2015 brings some exciting changes to our shop/restaurant as we introduce a dinner menu on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings each week starting this Spring!
You may already know our story, but when we opened Patina Green in June 2010, my family was in need of some healing. My mother’s husband had just lost his battle with cancer and our world was shaken. Our eyes began to open to see the unfortunate reality of the American food system, and we began our search for locally grown REAL food. Besides weekly farmer’s markets, the quest was difficult, and so our focus for Patina Green became clear.
With Patina Green, we needed to offer our community a place they could trust, knowing the food they consumed was REAL and free of pesticides, additives, preservatives, artificial flavors and colorings.
Our in-shop “farmer’s market” grew quickly and the demand for Robert’s food heightened. His original limited offerings had grown into a full lunch, with the menu changing daily based on ingredients local farmers were growing. On most days, the line for lunch is out the door and the dining room is full!
In 2012, we began to offer a Market Dinner series with a multiple coursed blind menu served one Saturday night each month. Reservations became a hot commodity with our Fall 2014 series selling out in less than 45 minutes. The demand for REAL food had become overwhelming.
As we enter a new year, we feel the time is right for us to grow, to expand our menu offerings, extend our store hours, and introduce dinner to our guest three nights a week. Like lunch, the dinner menu will change weekly based on seasonal ingredients, but will not be limited to sandwiches. With a street food approach, items will be served á la carte in sustainable packaging where guests can take meals to go, or can sit and enjoy dinner in our casual dining space.
The shop will be remodeled to accommodate more seating to create unique gathering spaces.
We are in the process of applying for our On-Premise License, which will allow us to sell locally made craft beers and sustainable wines with lunch or dinner.
We are excited about the growth and future of our business and would love to THANK YOU for helping us get there.
