Oktoberfest was a huge success! We had so much fun and worked so hard! We sold over 1800 items in two days! The menu was a fabulous mix of authentic German food and local ingredients. Thanks to everyone who helped to make it happen, we couldn't have done it without you!
Check out all of the carrots that Robert peeled and sliced!!
And Garrett with the corn that turned into yummy corn salsa on the bratwurst tacos . . .
Have seen so much shredded cabbage!? It was the main ingredient of the tomatillo slaw on the hotlink taco.
And Cody with a huge stack of True Brew drinks (these are made in Plano!) . . .
Inside the store, the deli bar was lined with lots of Dude, Sweet Chocolate. Katherine Clapner spent Saturday with us tasting her treats. Thank you Katherine for the education on your delicious products and for bringing a wonderful energy and spirit with you.
The home side of the store is updated too! We have so many new things!
I am crazy about this pair of French chairs. We had them newly upholstered in this heavy feed sack grade fabric to give them a more casual look. ($1450 pair)
The "bath department" is full of Renee's handmade soap while mixed with some of our favorite French products.
Don't you just love this old chicken feeder in the center of the table lined with tarnished silver platters? Now is the time to start collecting serving pieces for your holiday dinner parties! What about the shutter cabinets in the background? We salvaged the old shutters from a house in Ft. Worth and had cabinets made around them. They are one of a kind and would add fabulous character to a space. (The tall one is $795 and large $1450)
This must be one of my favorite pieces in the store right now. We had this linen ottoman slip-covered in an old truck tarp from Brazil. It would be the perfect coffee table or extra guest seating to any room.
These beautiful roses ($4 each) have been preserved and will stay this way forever! I love the contrast of the old English concrete with the soft flower petals.
It feels like Fall in the store now! We have gorgeous handmade wreaths made from Elm and Tallo Berries. ($55) There are fat Fairy Tale white Pumpkins ($28) mixed with mini whites (6 for $10), bunches of dried tallo berries and other wildflowers ($15), and tabletop Milo Stacks ($35) perfect for Fall entertaining.
In the market, Robert's deli fridge has been stocked with lunch specials ($7) using Fall local ingredients such as eight ball squash, sweet potatoes, eggplant, and more . . .
The farmers have been dropping off the first crops of winter produce - lots of varieties of squash!
As the weather is getting cooler, coffee is becoming more popular. We are brewing Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters everyday and sell bags of the whole bean. Fresh beans are coming in weekly!
Don't Forget to join us on Saturday, October 16th for our "Big Reveal"! We will have our European treasures unpacked and ready for good homes!
